LAMP Global Church Ministries DECLARATION OF FAITH
30 Fundamental Truth / Statement of Faith
Introduction : The Bible is our all-sufficient rule for faith and practice. This Statement of Fundamental Truths is intended simply as a basis of fellowship among us (i.e., that we all speak the same thing, 1 Corinthians 1:10; Acts 2:42). This is our Tenets of faith ,Our Core beliefs and principles that form the foundation of our Global Church as our philosophy of ministry.
1.) The Fall of Man
We believe that Adam and Eve, the precursors of the entire human race, were created in the image of God; however, they disobeyed God and became sinners. Through Adam, all people inherited sin's nature and consequences, and all are in need of a Redeemer (Genesis 1:26-27; Romans 3:23, Romans 5:12, 19 Romans 6:23 ). Man was created good and upright; for God said, “Let us make man in our own image, after our likeness.” However, man by voluntary transgression fell and thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death, which is separation from God (Genesis 2:17; Genesis 3:6).
2.) The Plan of Redemption
We believe that Christ died for all of us while we were still sinners; He took the punishment for our sin. With His own blood, He purchased salvation and redemption for all who believe in Him (John 3:16; Isaiah 53:5; Titus 2:14).
3.) Salvation of Man Through Grace
We believe that salvation is totally an act of God's grace that is accessed through faith in Jesus Christ. No person can be good enough to earn salvation, and "being good" does not contribute to receiving God's love and favor ( Ephesians 2:8,13 ).
Man’s only hope of redemption is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ the Son of God.
A. Conditions to Salvation
Salvation is received through repentance toward God and faith toward the Lord Jesus Christ. By the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, being justified by grace through faith, man becomes an heir of God, according to the hope of eternal life (Luke 24:47; John 3:3; Romans 10:13-15; Titus 2:11; 3:5-7).
B. Evidence of Salvation
The inward evidence of salvation is the direct witness of the Spirit (Romans 8:16). The outward evidence to all men is a life of righteousness and true holiness (Ephesians 4:24; Titus 2:12).
4.) Repentance and Acceptance
We believe that when people repent for their sins and accept Christ, they are justified through Jesus' sacrificial death on the cross. To repent means to be sorry for sins, but it also means to turn away from a sinful lifestyle. Accepting Christ means believing in Him as the only Savior. To be justified means being declared "not guilty" in regard to sin (Romans 10:9-10; 1 John 1:9).
5.) The New Birth
We believe that the change that takes place in people when they are "born again" is very real. They receive righteousness through Jesus Christ, and they are empowered by the Holy Spirit; therefore, they should have new desires, interests and pursuits (John 3:3; 2 Corinthians 5:17).Man’s first step toward salvation is godly sorrow that worketh repentance. The New Birth is necessary to all men, and when experienced, produces eternal life (2 Cor. 7:10; John 3:3–5; 1 John 5:12).
6.) The Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ
The Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. The Scriptures declare:
A. His virgin birth (Matthew 1:23; Luke 1:31,35).
B. His sinless life (Hebrews 7:26; 1 Peter 2:22).
C. His miracles (Acts 2:22; 10:38).
D. His substitutionary work on the cross (1 Corinthians 15:3; 2 Corinthians 5:21)
E. His bodily resurrection from the dead (Matthew 28:6; Luke 24:39; 1 Corinthians 15:4).
F. His exaltation to the right hand of God (Acts 1:9,11; 2:33; Philippians 2:9-11; Hebrews 1:3).
7. ) Daily Christian Life
We believe that people who have been born again grow in sanctification - which means that they separate themselves from the value system of the world and embrace and live according to the values of the kingdom that Jesus proclaimed. As they do so, they increase in holiness, faith, power, prayer, love, and service (2 Corinthians 7:1). Living a Life Full of Grace in Him.
8. ) The Church and Global Missions
We believe that evangelizing and making disciples is the primary "business" of the church; every hindrance to worldwide evangelism should be removed (Matthew 28:19-20 James 5:20; Mark 16:15 Acts 1:8 ).
The Church is the Body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Spirit, with divine appointments for the fulfillment of her Great Commission. Each believer, born of the Spirit, is an integral part of the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven (Ephesians 1:22,23; 2:22; Hebrews 12:23).
Since God’s purpose concerning man is to seek and to save that which is lost, to be worshipped by man, and to build a body of believers in the image of His Son, the priority reason-for-being of LAMP Global Church as part of the Church is:
A. To be an agency of God for evangelizing the world ( Acts 13 ).
B. To be a corporate body in which man may worship God (1 Corinthians 12:13).
C. To be a channel of God’s purpose to build a body of saints being perfected in the image of His Son (1 Corinthians 12:28; 14:12; Galatians 5:22-26; Ephesians 4:11-16; Colossians 1:29).
9. ) Tithing and Offerings
We believe that tithing (giving 10 percent of earnings) and offerings (amounts determined by the individuals) are God's instruments to carry on His ministry, spread the gospel, and release personal blessing (Malachi 3:8-10 ).
We believe the scriptures teach that giving is one of the fundamentals of the faith; that God is the Source of all blessings, temporal and spiritual; that tithing is a Bible principle, and that the storehouse for the tithe in this present age is the common treasury of the church; that we are under obligation to serve God with our time, talents, and material possessions; and are commanded to cheerfully, regularly, and liberally bring our tithes and offerings into the storehouse upon the first day of the week. Psalm 24:1; Haggai 2:8; Exodus 19:5; Deuteronomy 8:18; Genesis 14:18-20; 28:20-22; Leviticus 27:30; Matthew 23:23; I Corinthians 9:13-14; 16:1-2; Hebrews 7:2,4; Acts 4:35-37; Proverbs 3:9; II Corinthians 8:3,12; 9:7-8; Luke 6:38.
10.) Balance Christian Life
We believe that Christians should avoid excess and that their moderation should be obvious to others. Their commitment to Christ should be deep and sincere, but they should not indulge in or lead other people into extremes of fanaticism. Christians should be well thought of, balanced, humble and self-sacrificing, reflecting Christ's grace and character in all areas of their lives (Colossians 3:12, 13; Philippians 4:5). Also Living a healthy body and Discipline life over nature and environment 3John 2 ,1 Corinthians 6:19-20
11.) Local Church Relationship
We believe that it is essential for all believers to join with and become part of a congregation of other believers. It is important to worship together,
either in Church that has building or simply House Church, Simple church or Church anywhere. Observe the ordinances of the church, encourage and support one another, and work together to advance the Lord's kingdom (Hebrews 10:24, 25).
12.) The Five Fold Ministry
A divinely called and scripturally ordained ministry has been provided by our Lord for the five fold ministry gifts for the purpose of equipping Gods people to function not merely position ( Ephesians 4:11-16 ) The Five Fold Ministry, based on Ephesians 4:11, refers to five key ministry roles: apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers. These roles are not a hierarchy, but rather descriptions of ministry functions, and all Christians are called to operate in these areas to varying degrees and level. The goal is to equip God's people for service and build up the body of Christ.
13 . Heresy and False Teachings
We believe the scriptures teach that it is necessary to maintain a total and complete separation from all forms of doctrinal error and ecclesiastical apostasy. We believe the scripture admonishes us to try or examine false teachers and false teachings by measuring them by the Word of God, to mark them, to rebuke them, to have no Christian or Church fellowship with them, to withdraw ourselves, to receive them not, to reject their false teachings and to separate ourselves from them.
Romans 16:17; II Corinthians 6:17; Ephesians 5:11; II Thessalonians 3:6,14; Titus 1:13; 3:10; I John 4:1; II John 10-11.
14.) Unity in The Body of Christ.
We believe in the Unity of The Body of Christ regardless of names of Denomination or Fellowship. Unity within the Body of Christ refers to the biblical concept of oneness, harmony, and love among believers in Jesus Christ. It's not about uniformity, it's Unity in Diversity but a deep spiritual connection that reflects the relationship between God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. This unity is achieved through sharing the same spirit, faith, and hope in Jesus Christ. Working together in the Great Commission. Psalm 133:1-3 , John 17 :20-23, Ephesian 4: 1-16
Key aspects of unity in the Body of Christ:
A . Oneness through Christ:
Believers are united by their shared relationship with Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.
B. Shared faith and hope:
A common understanding of Jesus Christ and the Scriptures fosters unity.
C. Love and compassion:
Christians are called to love and care for one another, reflecting Christ's love.
D. Respecting differences:
Unity doesn't mean suppressing individual differences, but embracing them as part of a diverse body.
E. Rejecting division:
Christians are encouraged to avoid divisions and conflicts within the church.
F. Serving one another: Seeking unity is manifested in mutual service and support within the church community.
Prayer and intentional effort are needed to overcome obstacles to unity and foster a spirit of love and understanding.
15.) Civil Government
We believe that civil government is established by divine appointment; for the interest and good order of human society, and that magistrates are to be prayed for, conscientiously honored and obeyed; civil laws should be upheld at all times except when they are in opposition to the Word of God (Romans 13:1-7).
16.) The Holy Scriptures
We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God; it is absolutely true, enduring, and unchangeable (2 Timothy 3:16, 17. Matthew 24:35). The Scriptures inspired, both the Old and New Testaments, are verbally inspired of God and are the revelation of God to man, the infallible, authoritative rule of faith and conduct (1 Thessalonians 2:13;2 Timothy 3:15-17; 2 Peter 1:21).
17.) The Eternal Godhead
We believe in the Trinity of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. The three parts of the Trinity are coexistent and coeternal, which means that they always have existed and always will exist together; they are coequal in divine perfection, which means that no person of the Trinity is more powerful or more perfect than any other person in the Trinity (1 John 5:7). The one true God has revealed Himself as the eternally self-existent "I AM," the Creator of heaven and earth and the Redeemer of mankind. He has further revealed Himself as embodying the principles of relationship and association as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.( Deuteronomy 6:4 Isaiah 43:10,11 Matthew 28:19 Luke 3:22)
Accordingly, therefore, there is that in the Father which constitutes him the Father and not the Son; there is that in the Son which constitutes Him the Son and not the Father; and there is that in the Holy Spirit which constitutes Him the Holy Spirit and not either the Father or the Son. Wherefore the Father is the Begetter, the Son is the Begotten, and the Holy Spirit is the one proceeding from the Father and the Son. Therefore, because these three persons in the Godhead are in a state of unity, there is but one Lord God Almighty and His name one
18.) The Ordinances of the Church
We believe that people who have been born again should be baptized by immersion, follow Jesus Christ and also we believe in the observing the Lord’s Supper or communion . (John 1:18 ,John 15:26 ,John 17:11 ,John 17:21 ,Zechariah 14:9)
A. Baptism in Water
The ordinance of baptism by immersion is commanded by the Scriptures. All who repent and believe on Christ as Saviour and Lord are to be baptized in the name of the Father,Son and Holy Spirit . Jesus Himself was baptized and instructed His followers to be baptized .Thus they declare to the world that they have died with Christ and that they also have been raised with Him to walk in newness of life (Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:16; Acts 10:47, 48; Romans 6:4).
B . Holy Communion
The Lord’s Supper, consisting of the elements –bread and the fruit of the vine– is the symbol expressing our sharing the divine nature of our Lord Jesus Christ (2 Peter 1:4), a memorial of his suffering and death (1 Corinthians 11:26) and a prophecy of His second coming (1 Corinthians 11:26), and is enjoined on all believers “until He comes!” This means that born-again believers take the broken bread and the fruit of the vine as a remembrance and celebration of the new life that they have in Jesus through death on the cross and His resurrection.
19.) Marriage and Sexuality.
The Bible teaches us that God made us male and female. This relationship– between a man and a woman within a lifelong faithful marriage– is repeated again and again throughout the Bible, and is the only sexual relationship sanctioned and blessed by God. Genesis 1:27; 5:2; 2:24; Leviticus 18:22; Matthew 19:4-6. While the Bible disapproves of homosexual acts, it does not condone hatred of homosexuals or homophobia. Instead, Christians are directed to “love and respect everyone.” 1 Peter 2:17; John 3:16; 2 Peter 3:9. “For He is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”
20.) The Unseen World
A. Of Angels:
We believe the scriptures teach that there is a vast celestial kingdom of spirit beings called Angels, in ages past created holy, glorious, and higher than man; a vast company of various ranks worshiping God, ministering to His glorious Person and to His children.
Psalm 148:2,5; Colossians 1:16; Nehemiah 9:6; Hebrews 1:14; Psalm 103:20; 104:4; Daniel 9:21-22; Luke 9:26; Mark 8:38; Daniel 10:13; 12:1; Jude 9; Revelation 12:7; Psalm 80:1; 99:1,11; Revelation 4:6-8; Ezekiel 1:4-28; Isaiah 6:1-3; II Thessalonians 1:7-8; Psalm 34:7; Acts 12:7-11; II Kings 6:17.
B. Of the Devil, or Satan:
We believe the scriptures teach that Satan, as the mighty angel Lucifer, was once holy, enjoying heavenly honors; but that through pride and ambition to be as the Almighty, fell and drew after him a host of angels; that he is now the malignant “prince of the power of the air,” the unholy god of this world; that he is man’s great tempter, the enemy of the Lord Jesus Christ, the accuser of the saints, the author of all false religions, the chief power back of the present apostasy; the lord of the Antichrist, and the author of all the powers of darkness; destined however to final defeat at the hands of God’s own son, and the judgment of an eternal justice in hell, a place prepared for him and his angels.
Isaiah 14:12-15; Ezekiel 28:14-17; Revelation 12:9; Jude 6; Ephesians 2:2; II Peter 2:4; John 14:30; I Thessalonians 3:5; Matthew 4:1-3; I Peter 5:8; I John 3:8; Matthew 13:25,37,39; Luke 22:3-4; Revelation 12:10; II Corinthians 11:13-15; Mark 13:21-22; I John 4:3; II John 7; I John 2:22; Revelation 13:13-14; 12:7-9; 19:11,16,20; 20:1-3,10; II Thessalonians 2:8-11; Matthew 25:41.
21.) Divine Healing
We believe that Jesus Christ heals people who are sick. God does not change; He is still willing and able to heal the body, as well as the soul and spirit, in response to faith (Mark 16: 17, 18; James 5:14-16). Divine healing is an integral part of the gospel. Deliverance from sickness and demonic attack is provided for in the atonement, and is the privilege of all believers (Isaiah 53:4, 5; Matthew 8:16,17; ).
22.) Baptism with the Holy Spirit
We believe that the baptism with the Holy Spirit is an experience that follows salvation. Holy Spirit baptism empowers believers to exalt Jesus, to live lives of holiness, and to be witnesses of God's saving grace. We believe that those who experience Holy Spirit baptism today will experience it in the same manner that believers experienced it in the early church (Acts 1:5,8; 2:4).
All believers are entitled to and should ardently expect and earnestly seek the promise of the Father, the baptism in the Holy Spirit and fire, according to the command of our Lord Jesus Christ. This was the normal experience of all in the early Christian Church. With it comes the enduement of power for life and service, the bestowal of the gifts and their uses in the work of the ministry (Luke 24:49; Acts 1:4,8; 1 Corinthians 12:1-31). This experience is distinct from and subsequent to the experience of the new birth (Acts 8:12-17; 10:44-46; 11:14-16; 15:7- 9). With the baptism in the Holy Spirit come such experiences as an overflowing fullness of the Spirit (John 7:37-39, Acts 4:8), a deepened reverence for God (Acts 2:43, Hebrews 12:28), an intensified consecration to God and dedication to His work (Acts 2:42), and a more active love for Christ, for His Word and for the lost (Mark 16:20).
23.) The Sanctification and Spirit filled Life .
Sanctification is an act of separation from that which is evil, and of dedication unto God.( Romans 12:1,2 ,1 Thessalonians 5:23 ,Hebrews 13:12 .
The Scriptures teach a life of "holiness without which no man shall see the Lord." Hebrews 12:14
By the power of the Holy Spirit we are able to obey the command: "Be ye holy, for I am holy." Peter 1:15,16
Sanctification is realized in the believer by recognizing his identification with Christ in His death and resurrection, and by the faith reckoning daily upon the fact of that union, and by offering every faculty continually to the dominion of the Holy Spirit.( Romans 6:1-11 Romans 6:13 ,Romans 8:1,2 ,Romans 8:13 ,Galatians 2:20 ,Philippians 2:12,13 ,1 Peter 1:5 }.Living a life of HIS grace alone will surely lead us to victorious life .
We believe that born-again believers should be people who pray and who allow the Holy Spirit to shape their values and behaviors every day; their lives should exemplify love, honesty and sincerity (Ephesians 4:30-32).
24.) The Gifts and Fruit of the Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit gives ministry gifts to believers; in other words, the Holy Spirit gives people special abilities for ministry. These gifts will build up groups of believers and help them mature in Christian faith (1 Corinthians 12:1-11). Further, Spirit-filled believers should show the spiritual "fruit" that has been given to them: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, self-control (Romans 12:6-8; Galatians 5:22-25).
25. ) The Second Coming of Christ
We believe that the second coming of Christ is personal and imminent; we are as certain that His second coming will occur as we are that His first coming is a historical fact. No one knows the exact time of His coming, but believers will continue to spread the gospel around the world until He does come again. At that time the Lord Himself will descend from heaven, the dead Christians will be resurrected, and believers will be taken up to meet the Lord in the air ,The Rapture of of HIS glorious Church .(Matthew 24:36, 42, 44; 1 Thessalonians 4:16, 17). The resurrection of those who have fallen asleep in Christ and their translation together with those who are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord is the imminent and blessed hope of the Church (Romans 8:23; 1 Corinthians 15:51,52 ; Titus 2:13).
26.) Final Judgment
We believe that everyone will stand before the judgment seat of Christ. Born-again believers will be sent to a place of everlasting life, and nonbelievers will be sent to a place of everlasting punishment (Revelation 20:11-15 ; 2 Corinthians 5:10). There will be a final judgement in which the wicked dead will be raised and judged according to their works. Whosoever is not found written in the Book of Life, together with the devil and his angels, the beast and the false prophet, will be consigned to the everlasting punishment in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death (Matthew 25:46; Mark 9:43-48; Revelation 19:20; 21:8).
27.) Hell
We believe that hell is a place of darkness, deep sorrow and unquenchable fire, which was not prepared for man but for the devil and his angels; it will become the place of eternal separation from God for all who reject Christ as Savior . There will be a final judgment in which the wicked dead will be raised and judged according to their works. Whosoever is not found written in the Book of Life, together with the devil and his angels, the beast and the false prophet, will be consigned to the everlasting punishment in the lake which burn with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.(Matthew 13: 41, 42;Revelation 19:20, Revelation 20:10-15 Revelation 21:8 )
28.) Heaven
We believe that heaven is the habitation of the living God and the eternal home of born-again believers (John 14:2; Revelation 7:15-17).
29.) The Millennial Reign
The second coming of Christ includes the rapture of the saints, which is our blessed hope, followed by the visible return of Christ with His saints to reign on earth for one thousand years (Zechariah 14:5; Matthew 24:27,30; Revelation 1:7; 19:11-14; 20:1-6). This millennial reign will bring the salvation of national Israel (Ezekiel 37:21,22; Zephaniah 3:19,20; Romans 11:26,27) and the establishment of universal peace (Psalms 72:3-8; Isaiah 11:6-9; Micah 4:3,4).
30.) The New Heaven and New Earth
But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness” (2 Peter 3:13; Revelation 21, 22)
Revelation 21:1-2:
This passage in the Book of Revelation describes the new heaven and new earth, where the previous heaven and earth have passed away, and a new Jerusalem descends from heaven.
Isaiah 65:17-25:
This passage speaks of a new creation where God will create a new heaven and a new earth, and past sorrows will be forgotten.
2 Peter 3:13:
This verse also mentions a "new heavens and a new earth, where righteousness dwells".
